Windows, Linux and Carbon Footprints

Which is the greener Operating System? Windows Server or Linux?

I know that when my Centos staging server is idling it uses about 50Mb of RAM. And my laptop running xubuntu rarely uses all it's memory while Vista (what it shipped with) barely runs.
