What hosting are you using

Wondering what hosting people are using. Always find that looking for a new host is a bit like walking into that used car dealership. Best way i have found is by asking people about their experiences.

So my current setup is:
an account with www.bluehost.com
I use for testing and experimental sites. They offer a good value/feature tradeoff and I have been really impressed with their openess in terms of telling you when they screwed something up.

an account with www.quadrahosting.com.au
I use this for my Australian based clients - it is not a reseller account but you it supports multi domains, so if you manage all of your sites it does the job. The key thing about this account is that is more expensive than a us based host but really quick from within australia.

both are lamp shared environments, and bluehost supports ROR

so what are other people using?

Ilisys have realeased a reseller package on a PHP5 Cluster called the Power Cluster or something. It's got more PPPPOOOOWWWEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR!

Their support is excellent and they are on Australian Servers.

It's worthwhile to have about 5 clients on the server to offset the monthly cost. But you have no limit to how many sites or email accounts. You just buy more space.

Hosting Recommendations

I'm still using ilisys which was jst bought out by MYOB.

I've also been using Dreamhost for about a year for my Subversion Hosting. It's a lot of disk size for a little money. I am not too sure if they are fast enough for my web hosting but for Subversion Hosting it's great. They have other Goodies too.

The Australian Drupal Users Group has a thread on it:

I also have heard first hand that Quadra Hosting is not as relaible as it used to be.

Take a look at ServerGrade

Take a look at ServerGrade Web Hosting who have a very decent special running at the moment. I've been with them for a little over a year without any issues of note.
