JAOO Sydney/Brisbane 2009

This year the JAOO Conference is in Sydney and Brisbane and the lineup looks interesting indeed!

JAOO is a conference for Developers by Developers. It started when a bunch of developers had a grumble that there weren't enough good conferences down in the southern hemisphere and they decided to do something about it. It used to be exclusively Java but now it encompasses all developers who are interested in Development of high standards.

The program has some interesting stuff like:

• Automated Web Application Testing with Selenium (those who have worked with it will know it's awesome)
• Lean and Agile in Large
• Modeling with D
• XP (the speaker just walked by my desk which reminded me to post this and no it's not Windows XP)
• JavaScript Writ Large
• Deception and Estimation: How We Fool Ourselves

The ticket price isn't cheap. But the skills you will pick up will be valuable. Last year I attended LCA and the networking paid off many times over. Invest in your head!

Of course there are travel deals and hotels posted on the JAOO website.
