ZAMP?

What's this ZAMP server I hear about? I can't find what it is...

XAMPP not ZAMP

It's XAMPP. Apparently the X is the last letter in Linux cause people were getting mixed up. But that doesn't seem to have worked!

XAMPP is a variation of LAMP which is an acronym that represents the Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP stack. Sometimes the P refers to Perl

The good thing about XAMPP (not ZAMP) is you can have a environment that you can use on Multiple platforms. See MAMP and WAMP.

WAMP Server

I've had to install WAMP Server on this XP PC because I need access to a production environment quickly.

It's very easy. You only need to download and install with a few configuration options. Stopping and starting the services is very easy on Windows and so is enabling various options for PHP.
